Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has sworn-in three new High Court Judges nominations were recently approved by the National Judicial Council (NJC) with a charge to contribute to the building of a stronger judiciary in Abia State.
The Governor noted that with the knowledge they have garned over the years, there was no doubting of their credibility in delivering justice for a better society maintaining that he counts on the members of the Judiciary to raise the bar of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State.
The State Chief Executive, while informing the Judges that Abia State is on a threshold of breaking into new vistas, especially in the area of providing job opportunities for the teaming youths through numerous interventions including SMEs and attraction of foreign direct investments, hence deserves more security and expressed the hope that their support would add value to the governance of the State.
He congratulated them on their appointments and prayed God to guide them as they discharge their duties.
Earlier, while presenting the Judge nominees, the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Onuoha Ogwe assured that the nominees would be worthy assets to the State Judiciary as he described Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as judiciary friendly and assured him of the sustained support of the Judiciary.
The Solicitor General of the State and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Lady Uzoamaka Ikonne, had earlier administered the oaths of office and allegiance on the new Judges who include: Benson Anya, Enyinnaya Okezie and Ogbonna Adiele
In an acceptance speech on behalf of his colleagues, Justice Benson Anya
pledged their support for the State and ensure that maximal justice is dispensed in the State.
He thanked the Governor for his magnanimity in ensuring that the excercise was concluded by swearing them in, saying that they would not disappoint the people of the State.
