PENSION VERIFICATION: UKO ASSURES PENSIONERS OF IKPEAZU’S COMMITMENT TO REGULAR PAYMENT

The Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Aham Uko has reassured pensioners in the State of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s commitment and readiness to make payment of their pension regular now that verification was over.

Dr. Uko stated this in a reception he organized for both the State Executive Members of Nigeria Union of Pensioners and Pension Verification Team to thank them on the successful completion of pension verification.

He assured the senior citizens that he would carry out the Governor’s directive to immediately commence payment of those verified in the just concluded exercise.

He thanked the executive members for their contributions towards the success of the pension verification as well the State pensioners themselves for conducting themselves in an orderly manner throughout the duration of the exercise.

Addressing the State Pension Verification Team also, Uko expressed appreciation for their commitment to duty and in ensuring a hitch free exercise.

The Finance boss who observed that the verification has given the State an accurate data of the authentic pensioners, lauded the verification team for allowing themselves to be used to accomplish the noble work.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Pension and Establishment, Mr Okechukwu Ihedioha, thanked the Pension Verification team for their diligence and spirit of patriotism in carrying out the exercise seamlessly.

He stated that posterity will reward them for uncommon gesture in putting smiles on the faces of pensioners noting that with the completion of the exercise, the issue of pension verification would no longer pose a challenge to the State.
