Revocation Of Gun Licenses As A Dangerous Strategy Towards Full Fulanization And Islamization Of Nigeria:

For whatever reason or reasons, the totality of which is or are unacceptable, Christian and Southern leaders in Nigeria have exhibited nonchalance in the wake of cordinated systematic steps by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to overrun Nigeria with his Fulani kinsmen, with its attendant unconstitutional imposition of Islam.
The personality of President Buhari is commonly known by, at least, the elites in Nigeria. His antecedents as a Military Head of State, which summarizes him as a ruthless ethno-religious dictator in the same ranking as late maximum ruler; General Sani Abacha, is a description that is common in Nigeria.
Because of fear of his pedigree, Nigerians, especially those from Middle-Belt and southern parts of the country, consistently rejected him in his presidential bids in 2003, 2007 and 2011.
A combination of high-powered propaganda of calumny and subterfuge, mainly propelled by a former Governor of Lagos State; Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, paved way for Buhari that had thrice been rejected and had vowed not to contest again to emerge as President in 2015.
As an ethno/religious irredentist, Buhari’s agenda has never been hidden. His mission is dictated by a strong desire to accomplish a jihadist agenda started by Usman Dan Fodio, patriarch of the Fulani that is renowned to have started a war of conquest that started in 1804, which saw to the defeat, overthrow and subjugation of the Hausa kingdoms and even extended to Illorin, a purely Yoruba town, through reckless and irresponsible betrayal by a Yoruba warlord, Afonja.
If there are, for instance, five thousand positions to be offered Nigerians at any given time, it should not be forgotten that only one position among the five thousand can be more influential than three thousand other positions.
Under President Buhari, such sensitive influential positions are never given to citizens either from the South or that are Christians. To be specific, the positions of Security Chiefs are the preserve of Fulani/Moslems.
President Buhari has ever remained conscious of the statement of 12th October, 1960, barely twelve days after Nigeria’s independence, which was attributed to the late Primier of defunct Northern Nigeria; Sir Ahmadu Bello, in which he had described Nigeria as an estate of their grandfather where everything must be done to retain power and making sure that the people of the South not only do not rule themselves but, more importantly, do not have the opportunity to control their affairs, using the minorities of the North as mere tools.
Numerous efforts have severally been made by certain Moslems of various descriptions to impose Islam on Nigeria and Nigerians. In 1980, Cameroon-born Mohammed Marwa, known as Maitasine, came up with a bloody jihad in Kano, with the intent to impose Islam on Nigerians in that part of the country.
In January 1986, General Ibrahim Babangida, as Nigeria’s Military President, unilaterally forced membership of Organization of Islamic Conference, OIC on Nigeria.
Except the protest by Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe; a Christian Igbo who was his Chief of General Staff and second-in-command, an action for which he lost his positions, many Christians and Southerners did not appear to realize the import of that grave infraction on Nigeria’s federalism which is founded on secularity.
It would, however, not be forgotten that late Major Gideon Orka of the Nigerian Army had staged a coup d’etat against General Ibrahim Babangida on 22nd April, 1990. One of his many reasons was the effrontery inherent in imposition of Islam on Nigeria. Major Orka was so enraged with religious extremity of the Moslem North that he proclaimed excision of five states then; Bauchi, Borno, Kano, Katsina and Sokoto.
Boko Haram had long started before the emergence of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2010. As a sitting President, he showed determination to fight and repel Boko Haram insurgents in the North-East region of the country.
The then Chief of Army Staff; Lt-General Azubuike Ihejirika, was all out to combat the islamist insurgents to a point of capitulation. Unethically, before one could say Jack Robinson, northern islamist leaders, including Gen Buhari, had given the attack on Boko Haram insurgents as a deliberate design for ethnic cleansing of the North by the Jonathan administration. The outcry from the North was so loud that the American government; then under President Barrack Obama, a moslem, blocked Nigeria against buying arms to fight insecurity. The situation could not but get worse. Despite the state of violence in the North-East, the administration of Jonathan should be commended for having maintained a level of security that guaranteed the people of the region to participate uninhibited in the 2015 general election.
President Buhari came into power on the promise that Boko Haram insurgents would all be decimated not later than six months after being sworn-in.
Four years of being President have rather worsened the situation. The insurgents that were only attacking soft targets during the time of President Jonathan have dangerously metamorphosed into lunching open attacks on military formations in the region. Soldiers involved in operations against insurgency in Borno have been reported to have openly protested against being ill-equipped by the Buhari administration and also not giving attention to their welfare.
While the Buhari administration is said to be dilly-dallying on the islamist monster; Boko Haram, another islamist behemoth, Fulani herdsmen, boldly came up with a clear agenda; invade for a start the Middle-Belt, kill, rape, loot, devastate, occupy and islamize.
Whoever that talks ill of Fulani herdsmen automatically becomes the worst enemy of President Buhari. Despite the fact that the fulani herdsmen have killed tens of thousands of defenceless innocent Nigerians, none has ever been reported to have been arrested. Yet globally, Fulani herdsmen are rated third in human destruction.
On the contrary, youths of Igbo land, who worried by Buhari’s open declaration of hate and neglect for the South-East for giving him only 5% in 2015 presidential election, harmlessly protest against marginalization are declared as terrorist, hounded, killed and incarcerated.
President Buhari’s Fulani kinsmen have gone to another level. They are now the most brutal and exploitative kidnappers on high ways in Nigeria, especially in the South. Reports have it that they are sophisticatedly armed. Mr President knows all these.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was recently reported to have stated that Boko Haram insurgents and Fulani herdsmen are sponsored agents working for both Fulanization and Islamization of Nigeria. Many Nigerians are of the same opinion. Noble Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka, who hardly sees eye to eye with his kinsman; President Obasanjo, has challenged the government of President Buhari to address the substance in Chief Obasanjo’s exposé instead of being elusive and beating about the bush. Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, are also in the same boat with Prof Soyinka.
To the rude shock of Nigerians, President Buhari who is widely reported to have agreed to release ten billion naira to Miyetti Allah, which is a militant umbrella of Fulani cattle breeders, in order to reduce their onslaught against farmers and Christians, has, on return from Umrah (lesser Hajj) last Tuesday and by Wednesday 22nd May, 2019 signed an Executive Order with executive powers to remove, revoke and banish all firearms’ or short guns’ certificate or license in Nigeria that had previously been issued to ‘Nigerians’. By the Executive Order which is expected to be effectivst Saturday 1st June, 2019, it is said that Nigeria will become a gun law abiding country from that 1st of next month.
However, the truth is that President Buhari, who was specially invited for the Lesser Hajj by King Salman Bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, must have assured the Saudi Monarch that, using the advantage of his Presidency, nothing will make him not to coerce Nigeria into Islam.
Revoking certificates and licenses of guns issued Nigerians by duly constituted authorities at a time when his Fulani brothers are on unrestricted rampage against Southerners and Christians is the easiest way of weakening the people of the South and Christians in the country so that at the slightest attack by his Fulani herdsmen and kinsmen who surely will be more armed using the arms they would procure with Buhari’s N10b, Fulanization and Islamization will become a done deal.
This pursuit by the Buhari government is a contravention of the spirit of constitutional federalism. Nigeria is a secular and not religious federation.
Though this attempt by President Buhari to use his terrorist Fulani kinsmen to islamize Nigeria will fail, except if Jehova-God that Christians worship decides to abandon His faithful, there is absolute need for the various ethnic groups in the South and Middle-Belt of Nigeria to come together and vehemently constitutionally and legally resist and thwart every step taken by President Muhammadu Buhari to fulanize and islamize their regions. While putting up legitimate resistance against Islamization is not negotiable, restructuring of Nigeria remains the panacea to the country’s too many challenges.
