We have been considering certain nomenclatures that have become synonymous with the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu. In this article, CATERPILLAR REVOLUTION is in focus.
Having assumed office as the fourth democratically elected Governor of Abia State on Friday, 29th May, 2015, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu took off on the next Monday being his first working day in office to flag off road constructions in Aba.
Consequent and sustained building of quality roads in the State gave birth to the name, CATERPILLAR REVOLUTION in Abia State. Two years months down the line, Governor Ikpeazu has succeeded in deploying caterpilars to delapidated roads in the State.
His avowed commitment to provide quality and sustainable roads to the people of Abia State has resulted to construction of several roads across the State.
In this CATERPILLAR REVOLUTION, these roads built have so far withstood seasons of heavy downpour without damage. Ariaria International Market, Umuola, Where, Ovom, Ukegbu, Weeks and many others are glaring evidence that the Caterpillar Revolution is resl. Of cousre Ariaria will never again, experience the flooding associated with it.
Ikpeazu has constructed and reconstructed several roads and intervened in federal roads such as Port Harcourt Road, Aba-Owerri road, Arochukwu road and Aba road.
Governor Ikpeazu had to intervene in these roads because, to him there is nobody known as federal citizen road user, there are only Abia State citizens. Under the Caterpillar Revolution, he has built bridges and is currently constructing the first ever flyover interchange in the State at Osisioma Junction, Aba.
Ikpeazu’s Caterpillar Revolution has also extended to the Rural Roads Project which involves the construction of 10 kilometers of roads in each of the 17 Local Government Areas in the State.
A lot has been done in fixing of roads in Abia State and more are on the pipe line as the Caterpillar Revolution Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu is more determined to take Abia to an enviable height, especially in road infrastructure.
Addressing a momoth crowd of his supporters who staged a ten thousand man match in solidarity with him recently in Aba, Governor Ikpeazu stressed that it is only an Aba man “Nwa Aba”, that can fix Aba. He maintained that as a true “Nwa Aba”, he knows the challenges of the Aba man as well as the roads on Aba and has the magic wand to handle them.
It has therefore become imperative for all hands to be on deck in supporting the Governor’s efforts in this regard. Abia people and residents are therefore enjoined to return Governor to power in 2019.
