“Ejighi àtá Nsiko l’ohi” – Ngwa adage

While Equity stands for the ability to give everyone access to fair and equal treatment, regardless of race, social class or gender. Social Justice broadens the conceptualization of equity to encapsulate human rights as part of the social contract. To this end, history has shown that Ukwa-Ngwa people represents embodiment of Equity and Social Justice going by their ability to accept, accommodate and cohabit peacefully with indigenes of other clans and neighboring states. Hence, Ukwa-Ngwa share of equity and social justice can not be shortchanged.

At the wake of political activities in 2014 when INEC lifted ban on campaigns, Alex Otti was one of those who printed posters and billboards to vie for the governorship seat in Abia State under the umbrella of the PDP. As at that time, he claimed to be a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party.

However, having noticed that the PDP had interest in the emergence of an Ukwa-Ngwa man as the next Abia Governor, he started his campaigns and consultations with claims that he was from Isiala-Ngwa South, whereas, he is from Arochukwu. At the fullness of time, when it dawned on him that the PDP had zoned its governorship seat to Abia South and not just Ukwa-Ngwa, he left PDP for APGA. Of course, everybody knew how he dragged the APGA ticket with Ochiagha Regan Ufomba, who was already the party’s guber-candidate. Thank God that our dear revered Ochiagha is now a front line stakeholder of the PDP in the State.

Alex Otti deceived Abians by picking his running mate from Ohafia Local Government Area, while he is from Arochukwu LGA. Arochukwu and Ohafia are in one federal constituency. Where does such happen?

Otti, having accepted on African Independent Television (AIT) interview that he hails from Arochukwu, a ticket of Arochukwu/Ohafia can not be permitted to sail.

Mazi Otti, by his plots did not just ignore and disregard the fact that it is the turn of not just the Ukwa-Ngwa people but Abia South to produce Governor in Abia State, he also had the effrontery of presenting his sister as his running mate again in this 2019 elections. Yes, Abians may not know that Otti chose his sister from Arochukwu who is married to an Ohafia man and ignored Abia Central and South entirely. Can you imagine the mindset of a man dreaming of leading the people God’s Own State?

No way, an ethnic bigot and highly sectarian individual can not lead Abia State. And this is what Mazi Otti represents.

Otti’s efforts to distract Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu from working for Abia people and residents by several litigations failed woefully when he was defeated alongside Uche Ogah and Friday Nwosu three times at the Supreme Court.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has proved his mettle in the governance of the State. Governor Ikpeazu, in line with his five pillars of development and its enablers, including; Agriculture, Trade & Commerce, Education, SME, Oil & gas, Infrastructure, health, environment, security among others has actually redefined good governance in Abia State.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has fixed about 68 impassable roads, especially the Ukwumango axis of the Faulks road and Ariaria which had defied all attempts to fix it by previous governments.

The wonders of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in health sector is full glaring.

It is on record that, in Education, model schools have been built and many dilapidated school buildings are been reconstructed as Free school meal initiative is extended from Primary 1 to 3 to all levels of primary school pupils. Abia children have maintained first position in WAEC for three consecutive years and ABSU has remained in leading position in Law school.

In Agriculture, among other things,
Poultry cluster has been established at Umuosu-Nsulu palm oil seedlings raised , mushroom production farm established and Abia rice is being produced.

Governor Ikpeazu has changed the narratives of Empowerment / Entrepreneurship as the first set of 30 youths have gone to learn automated shoemaking in China and others are been trained in other several skill acquisitions, including, modern carpentering, garment production and modern brick laying.

A look at Governor Ikpeazu shows continuous commitment to making Abia great in the next four years. Abia people who believe in progress and development would never admit to be deceived by the antics of the oppositions. Abians have to sustain their support for equity, justice and fairness. Abia electorates must vote the party that is bringing Enyimba Economic City to Abia, the first ever free export zone that is capable of providing 700 thousand jobs.

Let’s vote PDP!
Let’s vote Dr. Ikpeazu!
OVI till 2023!
