The Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. David Umahi have made known his interest to tap from the ingenuity and inventiveness of Abia State to enable him deliver more dividends of democracy to his people.
Governor Umahi made this declaration when he visited Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu at Government House, Umuahia.
Governor Umahi said he was in Abia State with some his government functionaries, to tap from the style, trade and commerce and any other project that will leapfrog his State’s development. Furthermore, he added that Ebonyians are desirous to understudy the making of shoes in Abia and praised Governor Ikpeazu’s giant strides so far, as well as the guard of Honour by the police serving in Abia State Government House that welcomed his entourage.
Responding, Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu took time to recall his visit to Ebonyi State to see some ongoing projects especially bridges.
Dr. Ikpeazu, thanked his Ebonyi State colleague for coming to tap from Abia State, which he noted was integral of the South-East governor’s forum resolution to visit sister states. Governor Ikpeazu explained to Governor Umahi that he contracted business experts during his gubernatorial campaign which conceived to his five pillars of development.
Governor Ikpeazu enumerated the five pillars to include; trade and commerce, small and medium scale enterprise, agriculture, education (with special attention to technical education) and oil and gas with enablers like health, road construction among others to drive the five pillars.
Governor Ikpeazu said his administration’s aim in five years time is to attract one hundred industries adding that Abia has acquired nine hectares of land with certificate of Ownership to facilitate the ease of doing business in the State.
