The house of Representatives, Thursday, in a resolution ordered President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently deploy armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Isu boundary Community to restore lasting peace to the war ravaged area.

The resolution followed a motion of Urgent National Importance moved by the Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole.

According to the motion, Hon. Nkole called on the President to mandate the armed forces to “temporarily take over the disputed portion, pending when a proper delamination is carried out by the National Boundaries Commission.”

Nkole equally moved that the National Emergency Management Agency be urged to immediately deploy relief materials, including Medical supplies to the Communities in addition to Medical and Health Personnel to treat the wounded.

The resolution further urged the National Boundaries Commission to immediately demarcate and define the boundaries of both Communities to avert further clashes even as it called on the Committees on Police and National Securities and Intelligence to coordinate the implementation of the resolutions.

The Lawmaker had, while moving the motion, noted that between Sunday and then, three Communities within Isu boundaries in Arochukwu LGA have been under serious attack from the neighbouring Ntuma Community of Cross River State, leaving many dead and displacing several others.

He called for urgent measures to be taken to avert further breakdown of law and order and restore lasting peace to the issue of communal clashes of both Communities.
