3 secondary school students jailed for attempted murder

Three secondary school students have been jailed for two months by a Senior Magistrate court in Kano state for attempt to kill one Mustapha Muhammad.
The trio: Adam Ibrahim, Abba Musa and Ibrahim Abdul were docked on a one-count charge for murder attempt contrary to Section 95 of the Penal Code.
The prosecutor, Salisu Muhammad, explained to the court that the case was reported to the police by some members of Gyadi-Gyadi vigilante group.
He said that members of the vigilante group saw the accused persons armed with sword, knife and sticks when they attacked Muhammad while on his way home.
“The trio initially attacked him with a knife and when they realised that he was not injured, they hit him in the head with stone severally and injured him.
“He was later taken to Murtala Specialist Hospital for treatment.” Salisu said
The accused persons, however, pleaded guilty to the one-count charge leveled against them and begged for forgiveness
The presiding Judge, Senior Magistrate Huda H. Abdu in his ruling sentenced them to two months imprisonment or a fine of N10, 000 each.
