Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has won a prestigious iconic leadership award of Paragon of Sustainable Development presented to him by Assembles of God Church, 123 Tenant Road Aba.
Reading out the reason behind giving the award to the Governor , the Chairman, Media Board of the church, Engr. Henry Nduka said the Governor has done much to affect the live of Aba people in particular and Abia in general.
He said Governor Ikpeazu has performed beyond expectations, saying that he has lived up to his manifesto through his five pillars of development of the administration and enumerated several roads Governor Ikpeazu has constructed and reconstructed in Aba and its environs.
Also speaking, the General Superintendent, Assembles of God Church, Nigeria, Rev. Chidi Okoroafor assured Christians that they are protected in God. He was Happy over the construction works of Governor Ikpeazu in Aba and other areas of the State and declared that soon, Aba would become a cynosure of all cities.
Also, the host Pastor, Rev. (Dr. ) Ogboso Ejindu said they were celebrating the 20th anniversary of Zam Jehovah Nights programme of their church and appreciated Governor Ikpeazu for identifying with them.
He said the Governor did not consider who voted him or not but has extended democracy dividends to all and assured him the he would remain in office till 2023.
Receiving the award the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu thanked the church for honoring him and made it public that whatever he has achieved was as a result of the grace of God upon him.
He commended the church for deciding to sponsor 20 indigent students in schools and
said he would give 100 thousand naira each for the 20 indigent students apart from other cash donations he made to the church.
Dr. Ikpeazu solicited the continuous prayers of the church, promising not to disappoint God and the church.
