As part of efforts towards developing Small and Medium Enterprises and manufacturing in Abia State, the Governor Ikpeazu led administration is partnering with the NIBRA DESIGNS LIMITED and NIBRA BRAZIL, an International Leather firm in performing the groundbreaking ceremony for the establishment of its footwear Factory and Leather City Industrial Park in Obuaku, Ukwa West LGA tomorrow.
This was made public during a courtesy visit on the Governor by a delegation of the Chairman of the NIBRA DESIGNS LIMITED, Dr Wura Abiola. Dr. Abiola stated that the company is partnering with NIBRA BRAZIL to bring technology to Nigeria’s footwear Aba.
According to her, when established the company has the capacity to produce 15 thousand pairs of shoes daily at initial stage and subsequently, one hundred thousand pairs at full capacity.
In his speech, the Chief Executive Officer Abia Public Private Partnership (PPP), Dr. Austin Ufomba informed them that the NIBRA DESIGNS has come to revolutionize the shoe and leather market in partnership with Aba artisans.
Responding, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu
reiterated his resolve to support the growth of SMEs and manufacturing in the State. He vowed to provide the company with the right business atmosphere for its smooth operation, assuring that he would do everything within his powers to ensure that the factory is established.
Governor Ikpeazu expressed joy that his efforts in promoting locally made goods through the promotion of Made in Aba products is beginning to pay off in the State. He maintained that, establishment of the factory will make Abia entrepreneurs to remain relevant in the 21st century leather and shoe manufacturing and a production business.
