IKPEAZU IS A RARE BREED
Since the completion of the Enyimba International Stadium, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has not allowed any political event to take place there, not even his own events.
He insisted that the stadium must be used for the original purpose which is to play football.
The APC in Abia State will be hosting President Buhari today in the state. Such events should hold at the state capital but they had their big eyes on our Enyimba Stadium. They wanted to box the Governor into a corner since they knew he didn’t want the stadium to be used for political events. Instead of Umuahia, they asked for Enyimba Stadium. They felt Ikpeazu would say no, so they would use it to play politics.
Once their request came, Ikpeazu approved. We must respect the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, irrespective of political differences.
So the APC will use Enyimba Stadium today. The PDP has never held any political rally there.
Ikpeazu has never refused any request from any political party in the state for the use of any government owned facility.
Ikpeazu is teaching them the true meaning of statesmanship. I hope they will learn.
