GOV. IKPEAZU AS A WORTHY WORKMAN (Pt2)
By Kingsley Maduforo
A man is measured by his achievements, and the manner in which he handles the first responsibility/assignment given to him prompts him for another. Gov. Ikpeazu of Abia State has shown the scorecard for the first responsibility/ assignment given to him and is ready for the second task ahead. Under him Abia State has witnessed meaningful development. The socio-economic and infrastructural development in the state has accelerated the level of investment in the state. The governor is on the speed lane towards providing extensive and efficient infrastructural development across the three senatorial zones.
Right now, people are wondering how the magic is being done. The disposition of Gov. Ikpeazu clearly rubs off on his style of governance and his achievements are visible testimony. He has shown himself to be an exemplary leader. His high level of transparency in discharging his duties is equal to none. His giant stride in agriculture, education, healthcare, trade and investment, security, etc., speaks loud.
In terms of security for instance, the governor’s achievement in securing the lives and properties of Abians translate to the long existing peace being experienced across the state. Building and strengthening our security system is not only a treaty obligation or a political commitment, it also an enhancement of the effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability of development in Abia State. And it is also a means of creating good relationship between Abia and the neighbouring states, and even beyond.
Gov. Ikpeazu’s proactiveness and political will in handling and curtailing the violence and crisis in the state is quite commendable. The security standard of the state is now better that what it used to be in the past. In achieving this, Gov. Ikpeazu rendered assistance by providing patrol vans to state police and other security agencies in the state to strengthen and enable them do their job effectively and efficiently. Security of life and property is a priority for the government and this has been a highpoint for the Ikpeazu administration.
Gov. Ikpeazu has kept to his promise of restructuring the public utilities which he made to Abians during the last election. The restructured water scheme include: The Uturu Water Scheme and Umuahia Water Scheme. Ikpeazu as a workman studied and got himself prepared for the job.
Also, the two pet projects of the governor are running simultaneously. The Friends of Abia School Adoption Initiative (FASAI) and feeding of 30,000 school pupils obviously fall in the line of stomach infrastructure of Gov. Ikpeazu.
Governor Ikpeazu is driving a revolution in Abia and in just less than four years, he has already imprinted his name in the hearts of the people. This is a signal that his second term bid is a walk over.
