APGA: Candidate resigns membership in Abia
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) House of Assembly candidate for Obingwa East constituency of Abia State in the just concluded 2019 general elections, Chigozie Onyeukwu Ubani, has resigned his membership of the party.
Ubani made his intention public in a letter addressed to the party chairman at ward 11, Obingwa local Government of the state, made available to reporters in Umuahia, on Saturday.
His resignation letter partly read, “While Thanking God for the opportunities given taken within the period of my membership of the party, let me also thank the either membership for your support”.
Ubani, a security expert and fellow of the Institute of Security Nigeria joined partisan politics in the year 2014.
He contested the 2016 Obingwa Local government Chairmanship polls on the platform of APGA, but was defeated by the PDP candidate.
The erstwhile APGA chieftain had immediately the results of the polls were announced congratulated his opponent and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on their victory, after he was convinced that he lost the elections.
