Prosper Chidinma Erem is the CEO of Aba based shoe outfit, PROACH SHOES.
She is one of those shoemakers that were sent to China by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to improve on their skills in the art.
Since that trip, a lot has happened around her. On the invitation of the AFREXIM BANK, she was also in Egypt a few months ago where she took part in an exhibition.
The other lady shoemaker that went to China, courtesy of Governor Ikpeazu is Onwuasoanya Norah. Just last weekend, she was honored as the Best Lady MSME in Nigeria by the Federal Government and won herself a brand new car, One Million in cash and other things.
Anyways…
This evening, the CEO of PROACH SHOES was in my office and I was privileged to receive from her, a pair of lovely shoes made by this very hardworking lady who has given MADE IN ABA SHOES a huge lift.
When I tried the shoe, I felt very comfortable in them and they fit perfectly.
How did you know my shoe size? I asked her.
Oga, leave that side, or do you want to be a shoemaker too? That’s part of the passion in the job. Once a good shoemaker looks at someone, it’s easy to know the shoe size.
Ladies and gentlemen, tell me why we cannot patronize this young lady whose passion for self reliance and independence amazes me.
