The Commissioner for Sports has been directed to relaunch school sports competition including inter-school football competition known as Governor’s Cup in addition to directing the Commissioner to present a plan for the procurement and distribution of 600 table tennis boards for schools in the state.
The State Executive Council who gave the directive in its meeting presided over by the State Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu asked the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development to ensure early completion of the destitute home project.
In a release by Chief John Okiyi Kalu, the Honorable Commissioner for Information said that the Council also directed that all proposals for implementation must have budgetary backing and encouraged ministries to collaborate in delivering greater service to the people of the state from 2020.
