#16DaysOfActivism: ABIA FIRST LADY PARTNERS FIDA, VICAR HOPE TO TRAIN 40 PARALEGALS IN ABIA
The wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu says, as part of #16DaysOfActivism in Abia, she was working on a tripartite arrangement between her Office, the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) and Vicar Hope Foundation to train 40 Paralegals in Local government Areas of Abia State.
The objective, she said, is to deepen the response to Gender Based Violence GBV cases in the rural places by training rural based people to recognize and respond within legal context to cases of GBV.
She said the training will also provide valuable reporting and referral pathways for data and survivor services as all relevant stakeholders will be at the event.
Mrs Ikpeazu listed those to be trained to include: retired civil servants and teachers, community leaders, youth leaders, retired members of the police or other recognized institutions, especially persons who have capacity to do the work.
