GOV. IKPEAZU HAS LAID A MASTER PLAN OF DEVELOPMENT FOR ABIA – HON. NKOLE
The Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia at the National Assembly, Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole has said that Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has laid a master plan for the development of Abia State.
Hon. Nkole made this known while interacting with news men in Umuahia. He saluted the desterity with which the Governor is pursuing the Enyimba Economic City, an industrial zone that when realized, would provide more than 700 thousand jobs to the people.
According to him, “Governor Ikpeazu understands the way and nitty-gritty of what it means to develop a State. The Enyimba Automated Shoes is part and parcel of what we are talking about. Also the Enyimba Garment Factory.”, adding that the “Federal government has recognized these potentials by expositions made by the Governor ”
He said Governor Ikpeazu has provided the necessary enablers that bring about development. He said “his vision of getting intensity of economic activities making Abia a hub for economic is the key” Hon. Nkole further noted “that issue of unprecedented campaign for the Made in Aba products has brought a lot of visibility in the SME development and Abia today is the hub” He equally cited the case of the Golden Guinea breweries that has been rejuvenated and He disclosed that “ease of doing business in Abia has so much improved over time. Measures have been put in place to improve our IGR” said that for him, “these are key indicators that Ikpeazu has given Abia a master plan.”
The Federal law maker, who said that “Abia is on the part of progress under Governor Ikpeazu” scored the Governor high in healthcare sub sector. He described the Telehealth initiative of the Governor as a brilliant innovation and said “part of being in government is to think outside the box and being a leader, you must engage yourself in constructive thinking that will bring out the innovative changes.”He commended Governor Ikpeazu for renovating 300 health care centres as well as appreciated the manner with which the Governor handled Covid-19 pandemic in the State “I score him A1 on the way he tackled the Infectious disease pandemic called coronavirus. Abia has the lowest mortality rate”.
He appreciated the Governor for his achievements in education including renovation of about 482 class room blocks, building of 4 model schools and maintaining the lead in SSCE as well as commended his decision to convene a statekeholders’ meeting to handle the issues of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba.
Hon. Uko , who lauded the Governor for his giant strides in security,housing among others pointed out that his achievements in agriculture is transgenerationary and maintained that “visionary leaders don’t end up benefiting from the seeds they planted, it is their successors that will be well-placed to hold, they now shine with all those projects “He saluted the Governor’s legendary strides fixing Aba and other roads in the State with regid pavement technology which is known to last,adding that successive administration would not have any business coming back to those roads for repair.
The National Assembly member commended the healthy relationship between the Governor and National Assembly, describing it as strong and cordial, emphasising that the “Governor has developed a very good rapour nationally and also coming home” and urged Abia people to sustain their support for the Governor.
