IKPEAZU: POISED TO KEEPING HIS CAMPAIGN PROMISES TO ABIANS

“Ikpeazu is poised to do justice to the promises he made to Abians”- Says Health Commissioner…. As Abians Drums Support For Governor  Ikpeazu’s Administration
Abia state commissioner for health, Dr. John Ahukannah has said that the Governor of Abia state, Dr  Okezie Ikpeazu is determined to do justice to the promises he made to the people.
Dr Ahukannah said this in Umuahia when the people of Abam Onyerubi led by their traditional ruler, Eze Evangelist O. Origa paid him a courtesy visit at his office.
In their welcome address Eze Origa said that the people of his community, LGA and Abia state as a whole are fervently praying for the governor to succeed so as to continue in the noble works he is doing in Abia state.
He said that he led the delegation to the state ministry to plead to the honourable commissioner, Dr Ahukannah to come to their rescue and give them at least one cottage  hospital for their people.
“Honourable commissioner sir, the people of Abam Onyerubi has no single hospital with resident doctors , this has made life unbearable for us”.
” Our community can only obtain health care services at Umuahia which is a long distance from our town and on the event of emergency, it becomes very difficult and for this reason we record unnecessary and avoidable deaths” he said.
Eze Origa commended governor Ikpeazu for the road from Ndi Okereke to Arochukwu which is currently ongoing and the recovery effort of the governor on roads in Aba, Umuahia, and other parts of the state.
While thanking them for their visit the honourable commissioner Abia state ministry of health, Dr John Ahukannah advised them to agree on any existing health centre nearest to them where the government will begin by way of upgrading such facility in other to bring health care delivery closer to their communities .
He promised that as soon as that is done, a team from the ministry would visit the facility ,he pointed out that in such way the purposed plan will be achieved faster.
Dr Ahukannah also stated that adequate provision of health care services to the people gulps huge sum of money which governor Okezie Ikpeazu has continued to provide.
He said” Provision of health care services to Abians has gulped huge sum of fund which the governor has continued to provide to the people”
“Though there’s scarce resources to provide all that is needed at same time, the government led by Dr Okezie Ikpeazu is poised to do justice to the promises he made to the people.
The permanent Secretary, Mr Nkwachukwu Agomoh, directors of the state ministry of health were all present during the visit.
