The people of Umunna Nsulu in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area says the zoning of next executive Chairmanship of the Local Government Area rest in Umunna Nsulu.
They made this demand in a communique issued at the end of their meeting where they applauded the PDP and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for insisting on and respecting the zoning formula for elected offices as a means of promoting equity, peace, and political stability in our beloved state.
The communique, signed on behalf of all Citizens of Umunna Nsulu by the Umunna Nsulu Progressive Forum, claimed that Umunna Nsulu, has the highest number of registered voters in the Nsulu Clan as well as the second highest number of registered voters in entire Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area adding that they plan to double their voting strength come 2023.
In their 3-point demand, the Forum while noting that, no politician, in history, has ever won an election in Isiala Ngwa North without victory from Umunna Nsulu, given their voting strength, demanded that the leadership of PDP, Isiala Ngwa North, ensure fair implementation of zoning in the upcoming Chairmanship elections inn the interest of equity, justice, and political stability.
They appealed to the Governor and State PDP to support that zoning of the next Executive Chairmanship of Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area rests on Umunna Nsulu in particular.
They further noted that, in the interest of political stability and growth of the PDP in particular, ‘promises made to our people which rests the next Executive Chairmanship of our Local Government Area on Umunna Nsulu needs to be respected and achieved.’
