ABIA IS THE BEST INVESTMENT DESTINATION IN NIGERIA TODAY – GOVERNOR IKPEAZU
Speaking at the US-Nigeria Investment Summit at the Nigeria Embassy in Washington yesterday, Governor made a strong case for investments in Abia especially the new Enyimba Economic City(EEC) being developed in partnership with array of international private sector groups. The event, which was attended by top US investment groups, Venture Capital holders and Angel Investors, Under Secretary of US Department of Commerce Mr. Seward Jones, also had the Nigeria US Ambassador Justice Nsofor Rtd., Emir of Kano Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Alhaji Indimi of Orient Oil, Nigeria Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, DG of NEPZA and others in Attendance.
Many foreign investors at the summit commended the vision of the Abia State Governor and the expressed interest in the project. This led to over three hours of private meetings between the Abia State Government Delegation led by the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, C. Darl Uzu Private sector led of the project, Austin Ufomba DG PPP, Chinenye Nwaogu SSA Job Creation, Sam Hart SSA Public Communications, Ibe Michael Nwoke SA Housing And Property Development and interested foreign investors ranging from oil and gas, entertainment, hospitality, agriculture, pharmaceutical, power generation, port development companies etc. other who joined the Governor in the US included Dr Emeka Nwakanma of Abia Emergency Service, Dr Ngozi Erondu Coordinator of Abia Diaspora Brain Trust, Dr Chris Ike former president Abia National Association US.
Governor Ikpeazu who left Nigeria a week ago on vacation has since used his time to continue to market Abia State to the global business community. It would be recalled that before arriving the US, Governor Ikpeazu and his team had a brief stop in China for 2 days meeting with some of the biggest textile and leather companies in China who had expressed interest in the new Economic City.
