ABIA LOAN SMEs SCHEME; MRS. NKECHI IKPEAZU ADMONISHES ON JUDICIOUS USE.

Wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu has enjoined prospective beneficiaries of loan from Abia State Social Investment Office to make judicious use of the loans.
Speaking while flagging-off a One day stake-holders meeting with leaders of cooperative societies, market women and youth associations on government enterprise and empowerment programme, organised by the Office of the Wife of the Governor in collaboration with the Abia State
Social Investment Office, Bank of Industry and APPZONE at Michael Okpara Auditorium, the wife of the governor asked beneficiaries to make good use of the loan so as to improve on their well beings as well as open ways for others. She described it as a test of integrity. 
The Wife of the Governor said that the programme is an initiative of the federal government and supported by States, emphasizing that the fund is loan and not grant, hence the need to make good use of it.
She assured that no programme of the federal government would elude Abia State, maintaining that it is the desire of the Governor, Dr. Ikpeazu to work for the State. She thanked the federal government, Abia Governor, Bank of Industry and other stake-holders for their various roles in empowering women and youths.
In their goodwill messages, the Commissioners for Women Affairs,Youth Development, Trade & Investment and Economic Development & Poverty Reduction, appreciated the efforts of the State government for having done much in to ensure women and youths are assisted and empowered economically. They praised the Office of Wife of the Governor for the initiative, which they said favours women and youths.
The Commissioners urged women to inform other women to identify with the programme as the loan would help to turn around the economy of the women and the State.
Earlier in his address, the State Focal Person, Social Investment Programme, Mr. Chinenye Nwogu informed that the event was one of series of the programmes to intimate the beneficiaries about the social investment programme.
He said that the programme is aimed at providing soft loan facilities for Small & Medium Enterprises, stating that it is the best loan anyone can get. Mr. Nwogu, who thanked the Governor and wife for their interest in empowering people also stated that the loans are for only for those who are already in business.
