Immediate past Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martins Azubuike has formally declared his intention to run for the office of Governor in 2019. He is of the APC.

He made this declaration yesterday in Umuahia where he also launched his campaign organization.
Azubuike made certain remarks about the Ikpeazu administration. I am still studying the remarks and when I am done, I shall respond to them as appropriate.
Azubuike is a three time member of the Abia State House of Assembly, representing the good people of Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency. A core PDP member until sometimes last year. His colleagues elected him Speaker in June 2015.
His colleagues at the Assembly also decided to effect a change of leadership at the House, a process that finally produced Rt. Hon. Barrister Chikwendu Kalu from Isiala Ngwa South as the new Speaker.
Few weeks after his removal as Speaker, Azubuike decamped to the APC and now seeks the mandate of the party to become Governor.
The former Speaker should go and prepare well o. Defeating Ikpeazu in 2019 is not MADAM, GIVE ME EXTRA MEAT THERE.
If there is one thing I am sure of, it is this…
Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu will defeat Rt. Hon. Martins Azubuike in 2019. That is, if he gets the ticket of his party, the APC. If he doesn’t get the ticket, Ikpeazu will defeat anyone presented as the candidate of the APC.
Indeed, the people of Abia State will reelect Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in 2019 by a far wider margin than he got in 2015.
