The remains of the late Chief of Staff to Abia State Governor, Sir Chijioke Nwakodo has been laid to rest in his Umuana, Ndume-Ibeku country home.
Speaking at Ibeku High School play ground, venue of the burial ceremony, the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu described the deceased as his friend, brother and confidant.
He stressed that Sir Nwakodo was a comrade in the struggle and a pillar of support upon whom he leans, regretting that he would miss the trust-worthiness of Sir Nwakodo.
In their various condolences, Senator T.A Orji, Government College Umuahia Old Boys Association among others extoled the amiable qualities of the deceased, stating that he
was a role model, a humble and God fearing and urged all to take heart.
Speaking also the Chairman Burial Committee, Elder John Nwamgborogwu said late Sir Nwakodo was the one that founded Okezuo Abia Political Movement, a group that was instrumental to the political power shift that brought Dr. Ikpeazu to power. He disclosed that the group would establish a foundation in honour of late Sir Chijioke Nwakodo.
In a tribute on behalf of the family,one of his sons, Mr. Chizaram Nwakodo testified that their father was a good man, a devout Christian and one who would be missed by all because of his various roles in the society.
In his sermon earlier, Venerable Daniel Kalu urged everyone to walk in the light and obey God so as to make heaven at the end of life.
