ABIA STATE TELEHEALTH INITIATIVE RECEIVES OVERWHELMING ACCEPTANCE ACROSS LGAs IN ABIA STATE (See Photos)

The Abia State TeleHealth Initiative has been launched in all the 17 LGAs in the State where the team held a stakeholders meeting with an overwhelming embrace across all the LGAs.

From Aba South to Aba North, the story is the same through Umuahia North and South including Osisioma Ngwa, Obingwa, Ugwunagbo, Ukwa East and West through to Isiala Ngwa North and South, Ikwuano as well as other Local Government Areas in Abia State where the train of Abia State TeleHealth Initiative visited.

At Obingwa and Ugwunagbo LGAs, both Heads of Service, Mr. Ikpo Ochokwu and Mr. Obi Chibuike, respectively were on hand to receive the team that comprised the State Coordinator, Dr. Omas Ubiame and the panel of discussants drawn from the State Ministry of Health, Ministry of Local Government/Chieftaincy Affairs, as well as the partners of the State in the Dial-a- Doctor Initiative, Globacom.

When the Team landed in Ukwa East and West LGAs, they were heralded by the overwhelming attendance and involvement recorded of the people during the session with a resounding commitment to the project in both LGAs. Their respective Heads of Service Chief Rachel Iwezor for Ukwa East and Mrs Philomena Emeh for Ukwa West, pledged the commitment of their various Councils to the Abia TeleHealth Initiative while commending the Governor for the concept.

The Team made another inroads into Umuahia North and Ikwuano LGAs with a resounding attendance from the people and residents of the both Local Government Areas with their Heads of Service of Umuahia North, Mrs. Jane Onwutuebe and Ikwano, Mr. IC Erondu on hand to welcome the team. They both expressed immense gratitude to the Governor and the entire team for coming with such a noble idea and pledged their unalloyed commitment to its success.

From the, Abia TeleHealth Initiative Team zoomed to Umuahia South and Osisioma Ngwa LGAs for the stakeholders meeting with the people of the Local Government.
According to the report gathered the session showed the commitment of the people of Abia State to the project, as despite the underwhelming attendance and involvement recorded in Umuahia South, Osisioma was an obvious compensation as the turn out was highly impressive.

The Heads of Service of Umuahia South, Mr. Lucky Baaba and that of Osisioma Ngwa, Mrs. Fortune Nwanganga showed diligence and tenacity in that despite the short notice they were given, they still made out time to mobilize participants from their LGAs.

When the Team left Osisioma Ngwa, their next point of call was Isiala Ngwa North and South with an overwhelming presence of the people in attendance.

Ohafia and Isuikwato Local Government Areas were the next to be toured be the Abia State TeleHealth Initiative Team for the stakeholders meeting.
Mrs. Ndidi Nwagba, the Head of Service for Ohafia and her counterpart from Isuikwato, Dr. Dom Onwuzuruigbo, were present to declare the support of their respective Local Governments to the vision of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in the Health Initiative.

The stakeholders meeting left for Bende and Ummuneochi LGAs. We gathered that while attendance was underwhelming in Bende, the people of Ummuneochi made up for compensation as the turn out was much more impressive and both LGAs showed the commitment of the people of Abia State to the project.

Both Heads of Service of Bende, Barr. Oliver Chidi and that of Ummuneochi, Mr. Emeka Ogelle put every effort through their presence and support, despite the short notice they were given for the project.

The Team rounded off with a visit of Arochukwu LGA where the Head of Service, Mrs. Edna Anoziem praised the effort of the team and the tenacity of the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for the lofty Project and assured of the total commitment of Arochukwu LGA for its success.

In all the 17 Local Government Areas visited, the people spoke with one voice in support of the State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu to the realization of the vision of the Abia State TeleHealth Initiative.

The highlight of the stakeholders meeting session was always one ‘the resounding commitment of the people of Abia State to the project which was heralded by the overwhelming attendance and involvement as recorded in all the Local Government Areas.
