The Secretary to Abia State Government/ Chairman, Abia State Covid-19 Committee, Barr. Chris Ezem, said State Government will continue to roll out palliatives even as he has reminded Abians and resident alike that the lockdown order is still in force and subsists in the State.
Ezem, in a statement, said the palliatives will still go through churches and reaching out to the vulnerable and less-privilege groups in the State as well as through the 17 Local Government Councils in liaison with Traditional Rulers, President-Generals and women leaders to their various Communities.
The statement encouraged citizens and residents to continue to obey the said directive.
Part of the statement said, “Government assures Abians that our front line service providers and medical experts are dealing with the current index cases in Abia and our Medical Protocol are already carrying out contact tracing of all who came in contact with the index patients.
“As a matter of duty, Abians are advised to continue to obey and comply with its directive on lockdown in order to forestall spread of the index case in the State.
Government wishes to use this medium to further thank all our donors and public spirited individuals for their financial and material support to the State in the fight against coronavirus pandemic in Abia State.”
Ezem noted that” Government appreciates the untiring efforts of all our front line service providers, medical and para-medical personnel, State and Local Government Enforcement Teams, security agencies, including those on essential duties and particularly Ndi-Abia for their understanding and continued compliance to the lockdown order.”
