ABSACA TARGETS 7000 YOUTHS FOR HIV/AIDS COUNSELING AND TESTING IN ABIA – AJIKE

The Project Manager, Abia State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS (ABSACA), Dr./Ajike Kalu Eme has disclosed that his Agency targets not less than 7000 youths for HIV/AIDS counseling and testing in Abia State.

Dr. Ajike made the disclosure at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike while flagging off the HIV/AIDS free counseling and testing for university students in Abia State. He noted that the essence of the event was to take sensitization of HIV/AIDS scourge to the youths maintaining that the choice of the university is because it harbours more youths.

He also stated that the easiest way possible to end the prevalence of HIV/AIDS is through giving out enough information which can only be done through sensitization of the youths and called on students of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike to ensure they utilize this opportunity to get tested free of charge for HIV/AIDS.

The programme which is organized in conjunction with the National Agency for the Control of AIDS ( NACA), will run from Monday 28th through Thursday, 31st October 2019 and will be replicated in other institutions of higher learning in Abia State including Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU), Abia State Polytechnic, Aba Abia State College of Education Technical Arochukwu among others.
