ALIGN YOURSELVES WITH MY  DEVELOPMENTAL POLICIES – IKPEAZU TELLS TC CHAIRMEN

Transition Committee Chairmen in the State have been told to align themselves with the developmental policies of the Governor Ikpeazu administration with a view to driving the programmes across the State.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu who gave this directive at their swearing in ceremony at Government House Umuahia, also harped on the need for them to leverage on the programmes and policies of his administration in such areas as Agriculture, Trade & Commerce, Education, Health, among others to better the lots of the people in their various LGAs.

The Governor, while justifying the decision of his administration to establish Homeland Security Outfits in all the LGAs noted that the security outfits would boost security in the rural communities as well as help government manage security more effectively and challenged the Chairmen to ensure the success of the outfit in their various communities.

The State Chief Executive told that as Chief Security Officers of their respective LGAs, they were expected to maintain a peaceful cohesion and manage issues among various interest groups in their Councils as well as ensure that their LGAs are crime-free during these Yuletide and beyond.

The Governor directed them to look inwards and identify impactful realisable projects such that communities without such social amenities as pipe bore water and electricity are provided with the amenities.

Responding on behalf of his colleagues, the Transition Committee Chairman, Aba North Local Government Area, Chief Victor Ubani assured the Governor of their resolve to work very hard so as to make the Governor and the State very proud.

The Solicitor General of the State and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Lady Uzoamaka Uche Ikonne had earlier administered oaths of allegiance and office on the Chairmen and their Deputies.
