In continuation of the ongoing distribution of Educational and Instructional materials to the over 180 Public schools across the 22 wards in his Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole, Wednesday delivered a set of Yamaha Parade band, Sets of modern school desks and chairs, white board and accessories, Headteacher’s table and chair, Mathematical sets, Textbooks For Primary 1-6, Exercise books and other Stationeries etc to Uma Ukpai Memorial Primary School, Asaga Ohafia and Amaezema Primary School, Amuke Ohafia
Speaking at the palace of Eze Emmanuel Kalu, Ezieogo Asaga Ohafia, Nkole stated that the project was conceived to bridge the gap that exist between pupils in the rural areas and mostly well advanced private schools in the urban areas in line with global best practices.
The Lawmaker stressed that education plays vital role in reshaping and moulding a child to conform to acceptable standards in the society and charged the school management and the community to make judicious use of the materials to impact positively on the pupils.
At Amaezema Primary School, Amuke Ohafia Hon. Nkole expressed satisfaction for the unfliching supports and cordial relationship existing between him and the Community and promised to continue to attract more meaningful projects that will better the lives of his constituents.
He reiterated his earlier stand since April 2017 of assisting indigent primary 6 pupils in ensuring they don’t miss out the First School Leaving Certificate Examinations, FSLCE, for lack of funds and emphasised the importance of First School Leaving Certificate to the child.
He observed that over 600 indigent parents have assisted on behalf of the pupils to register the examination in Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.
Responding, Ezieogo Emmanuel Kalu of Asaga Ohafia and Ezie Uma Agwu Arunsi of Amuke Ohafia, expressed happiness over his efforts geared towards the Educational sector at the grassroot and thanked him for the laudable project describing it as a noble feat.
They prayed to God to continue to protect and bless Hon. Nkole with more wisdom even as he continues to deliver more dividends of democracy to the Constituency.
In his submission, the State Organising Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party Abia State, Elder Victor Ebere (Olaedo) who paid an unscheduled surprise visit to join the Federal Lawmaker right in the venue, said he came to confirm what he has been reading and seen in the media and expressed delight to the unprecedented and rare feat achieved by the lawmaker in the history of representation in the National Assembly within the State.
He challenged the pupils to be studious and make good use of the instructional materials as provided, assuring that if they do well, the Rep. member will be challenged to do more for them.
