The Board and Management of Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH) has disassociated themselves from claims circulating on social media that ABSUTH has turned to Sen. Kalu to pay salary arrears.

A statement signed by Chairman of the Governing Council, ABSUTH, Dr Wokoh Davidson informed that the statement, which was attributed to Dr Okwuonu Chimezie, the State NMA Chairman, does not in any way represent the current state of affairs at the Teaching Hospital.

While recalling that this statement is coming barely one week after Government commenced the payment of the arrears as earlier promised by the Governor, ABSUTH Board and Management said it seriously frown at such outlandish calls that has no substance.

The release denied being aware of any of such visit to any Senator as they did not authorize such statements

It added that the Government of Abia State under Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has shown genuine interest and is determined to clear the salary arrears – as the first tranche of payment was received recently maintaining that the Board and Management of ABSUTH are grateful to the State Government and believe in her genuine interest in revitalizing the Hospital.
