Coronavirus: ABSU postpones convocation, 1st semester exam indefinitely

The Governing Authorities of Abia State University have approved the postponement of the proposed 27th Convocation Ceremony of the University till further notice, due to recent global developments.
Similarly, the proposed 1st Semester 2019/2020 Examinations scheduled to commence on Monday 23rd March, 2020 have been put off indefinitely.
Students are therefore directed to vacate the University Campuses with effect from Sunday, 22nd March, 2020.
The Governor and Visitor to the University, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Ph.D has however graciously directed that Lecturers of the University should engage students on online tutorials for the period of the vacation.
Students are therefore advised to ensure that their laptops, tablets and other electronic gadgets are put online to participate in this programme.
The Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor E. Uche Ikonne has therefore directed all students of the University to restrict their movements during the period of this vacation and adhere to the guidelines of the World Health Specifications on COVID-19 to be safe from any form of contamination.
All inconveniences are highly regretted.
