DEE BOB: A MAN OF IMPECCABLE CHARACTER – Governor Ikpeazu

Abia State Governor has described the late Chief Bob Ogbuagu, popularly known as Dee Bob, one of the founding fathers of Abia State as a great man of impeccable character
The Governor was speaking during a special Day Of Tributes in honour of the late elder statesman held at Michael Okpara Auditorium. Umuahia . He recalled that the Earth has swallowed many distinguished Abia indigenes, including Dr. Michael Okpara, JOJ Okezie, Jaja Nwachukwu among others, saying now. it is Dee Bob.
He said he would continue to remember Chief Ogbuagu for his sincere pieces of advice to him and two great gifts Dee Bob gave him, which were the Abia Charter of Equity document and a special pin of decoration of the Rotary Club International.
Dr. Ikpeazu expressed his condolences to the bereaved family, urging them to take heart as the loss was not just to them but entire Abia State.
In their tributes, the Senator, representing Abia Central Zone, Chief Theodore Orji, the Chairman and Publisher, Champion Newspaper, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and the Chairman, Abia Advisory Council Ezeogo Anagha Ezeikpe extolled the good qualities of late Chief Bob Ogbuagu, adding that it was not easy to articulate all Dee Bob did while alive.
They further said that he was great in character, hard work, honest, loving and one who believed in building capacity in men, saying that he would be greatly missed and requested that he be immortalised.
The Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Joshua Ogbonnaya appreciated the immense contributions of Chief Bob Ogbuagu to people ‘s life, describing death as inevitable.
He said the day was a sorrowful one and urged all to take heart.
 
Speaking on behalf the bereaved family, one of the daughters of Chief Ogbuagu, Mrs. Iheoma Nwachukwu appreciated the State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and government of Abia State for organising the programme in honour of their father.
She said their father was a great man who loved his children and the nation.
According to her the shoes the father has left for them, was too big for them to put on as he achieved much on earth.
The event, which featured launching of a book written in honour of late Ogbuagu titled “Bob Ogbuagu, The Untold Story of a Remarkable Nationalist and Bureaucrat” which the Governor launched with one million naira would be concluded with the burial of the man this Saturday, 18th November, 2017.
