Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi west, has lost his mother.
Melaye announced the passing on of his mother via his Twitter handle on Thursday.
“With total submission to the will of Almighty God, I on behalf of the Melaye, announce the passing into glory of our beloved mother, Deaconess Comfort Melaye,” he tweeted.
“We thank God for Godly life she lived. I love you, my mother and friend. We shall surely meet again.
“You are still alive because you live in me, my dependable mother, sister and friend.
“You were more than just a mother, you have your tomorrow for my today. Mummy, the cloud is without form but I take solace in the fact that we will see again.”
Commiserating with Melaye, Bukola Saraki, the senate president, said: “My heartfelt prayers and sincere condolences go out to Senator Dino Melaye and his entire family over the passing of their beloved mother, Deaconess Comfort Melaye. I pray that the Almighty grants her eternal rest and gives the family the fortitude to bear this significant loss.”
The senator first won a seat to represent Kogi west senatorial district in 2015 and won retained the seat during the general election that held in February.
