ENYIMBA CRUISE TO THE LAST 16 OF PRESTIGIOUS CAF CONFEDERATION CUP
By Matthew Enyinnaya Clinton
Enyimba International Football Club Founded in 1976, the club rose to prominence in the 2003 & 2004 and is considered the most successful Nigerian football club as they won African Champions League titles back to back in 2003, 2004. Six Nigerian League titles and four FA Cups since 2001.
Enyimba Int’l FC of Aba were forced to goal less draw at UJ Essiene stadium Calabar Wednesday by Bidvest FC of South Africa after the two teams played 1-1 in South Africa. With this result the Aba Landlords Enyimba of Aba has qualified to the group stage of this year’s CAF confederation cup. Enyimba scaled thru the away goal rule.
It is worthy to note here that Enyinmba Int’l FC of Aba is the only continental hopeful for Nigeria remaining in the year’s CAF competitions as other Nigerian clubs like Plateau Utd, MFM and Akwa Utd have all crashed out.
Congratulations Enyimba of Aba.
