GOVERNMENT TO ABSORB REPENTANT CRIMINALS INTO ITS SKILLS ACQUISITION PROGRAMMES – HOMELAND SECURITY COMMISSIONER
The Commissioner for Homeland Security, Prince Okoli Daniel Iheanacho said Government would absorb repentant criminals into its skills acquisition programme to enable them turn away from crime and other social vices.
Prince Iheanacho stated this when he appeared as guest to a live radio interview in Umuahia, monitored by Abia Online. He noted that security is everyone’s business and called on all Abians including residents to be security conscious.
He further advised people to mind the kind of personal information they post on their social media handles such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and the likes, as well as be mindful of their phone conversations explaining that criminals make use of such information to hunt their victims.
The Commissioner also informed that his Ministry would partner relevant agencies, traditional rulers and community heads to ensure proper policing of our homes and environments.
