The campaign train of the PDP journeyed through the nooks and crannies of Abia State with Abia electorates trooping out “en masse” to show acceptance of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
All the venues of the rallies were agog with thousands of people celebrating Governor Ikpeazu in solidarity songs and other displays. Of course the reasons behind these are not far-fetched as Dr. Ikpeazu has proved beyond reasonable doubts that he possesses the capacity to turn around the economy of the State for good. With beautiful speeches from different stakeholders, women leaders and candidates for Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly. It was messages of support and solidarity for Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and x-ray of his achievements in the last four years.
It is important to stress that even in the Local Government Areas like Isuikwuato, where Uche Ogah comes from, Bende, the Orji Uzor Kalu’s kinsmen, Arochukwu, Mazi Otti’s kinsmen trooped out massively to identify with the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and other PDP candidates.
Very importantly, thousands of opposition party members defected to PDP because of what the Governor has done in the State.
Addressing the mammoth crowd of people who stormed various campaign grounds the Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu called on them to sustain their belief in equity and ensure they vote him again to complete two tenures of office as his predecessors did. He assured that in the second tenure, he would do more in the State. Of course everybody is a witness to the achievements of the Governor in the last four years.
These great supports are undeniable evidence that the Governor is already on his way to victory, come Saturday, March 9th. It has therefore become incumbent on all to troop out “en masse” to secure this all important victory for the Governor and his team of House of Assembly members.
Governor Ikpeazu’s victory would certainly sustain peace and development in Abia State.
Governor Ikpeazu should be re-elected to sustain the progress he has made in infrastructural development including solid road constructions, good drainages and bridges, women empowerment, innovations in education, interventions in health and environment, revolutions in agriculture, promotion of ‘Made-in-Aba’ products among others.
These are the pointers to the fact that he has worked and ready to work more in the next four years. The truth remains that Governor Ikpeazu’s predecessors took two terms of office and equity demands that the Governor is allowed two terms of office too. All lovers of goodwill should ensure Dr. Ikpeazu is re-elected on Saturday, 9th March, 2019.
