Many have caught a glimpse of this mobile life saver passing by on their daily routine activities, but majority do not really know what it is and how to take advantage of it services. Once I heard someone refer to it as just an ambulance :- this is a mobile Intensive Care Unit, equipped with medical tools capable of sustaining a victim’s life from the point he is picked to the point he would receive desired attention. Also, the operators are trained medical personnel, who are ever ready to take decision, provide healthcare services for the victims.
In his avowed commitment to deliver qualitative, affordable and available medical care to the good people and residents of Abia State, the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has been carrying out various healthcare interventions in the State, which of course has impacted greatly in the lives of the people.
Worthy of mentioning in this health care business is the establishment of Abia State Emergency Medical Care.
The essence of the Abia State Emergency Healthcare is to ensure victims of health emergencies in the State access the healthcare, and this is done through a dialing a dedicated number; 112. Once the call centre is reached, such victim gets hope of been cared for.
The Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has, out of dint of hard work, attracted funding from funding agencies, hence the State has benefitted from two of such funds; Save One Million Lives Programne and Basic Healthcare Provision Fund. These
two funds are been accessed currently and they would affect primary health care in the State positively.
Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu intends to improve on quality healthcare delivery aimed at making Abia a medical tourism destination as well as improve on maternal mortality and infant mortality indices. The over all goal here is to improve on the life expectancy in Abia, since life expectancy in Nigeria is between 53 and 55. The interest to improve maternal and infant mortality indices in the State should be applauded.
Ikpeazu is really on the move to deliver to Abia people and residents, available
affordable and qualitative health care services. Hence, it is pertinent to sustain the support for him. The recent resolution of Ukwa/Ngwa people to adopt him as their sole candidate is quite a welcome development. All and sundry should identify with him to encourage him to do more for Abia State and her people.
SUPPORT A GOVERNOR AT WORK!
