IKPEAZU CELEBRATES ABARIBE ON HIS EMERGENCE AS SENATE MINORITY LEADER
The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, PhD has sent a hearty message of congratulations to Senator Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe on his emergence as Minority Leader and official leader of Opposition in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Governor Ikpeazu noted that Senator Abaribe, has over the years, become a shinning light and a beacon of legislative excellence in the discharge of his duties at the Senate.
As one of the longest serving Senators in the current democratic dispensation, Ikpeazu noted, Senator Abaribe has become a compendium of legislative experience and a walking encyclopedia of the nuances of the legislative arm of government in Nigeria.
At a time like this, Ikpeazu continued, Abaribe’s election is a most fitting recognition for his years of active participation, unshaken faith and doggedness to the cause of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party and to the Nigerian nation.
Governor Ikpeazu further stated that for the people of Abia State whom Abaribe had the privilege of serving as one time Deputy Governor, and in particular, the people of Abia South Senatorial District whom he is serving as Senator for the fourth unbroken tenure, his emergence confirms the truism that there is great honor in consistency, integrity and courage.
Ikpeazu is confident that Senator Abaribe will bring into this new position a breath of fresh air, elevated legislative gravitas and a brand new impetus for opposition politics in our country.
Governor Ikpeazu, on behalf of himself, his family, government and people of Abia State wishes the distinguished Senator the best of times in his new position and hopes fervently that his emergence will add zest to debates on the floor of the Senate and add greater value to the quality of legislations emanating from the upper legislative chamber.
