There are indications that some APC state governors were absent at the inaugural campaign council meeting of the ruling party

Some state governors who are expected to serve as coordinators in their respective regions for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council for the 2019 election, are absent at the inaugural meeting which is said to be underway at the State House conference center, Abuja.
President Muhammadu Buhari who is the chairman of the council said that the high-profile meeting was targeted to look into and approve the structure and operational modalities of the campaign, The Sun reports.
APC bigwigs who attended the meeting were Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the co-chairman of the campaign council, the APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, the deputy chairman of the council.
Minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, the director general of the campaign team, Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora, the director general (operations), and Waziri Bulama the deputy director general (coordination) were in attendance.
Also in attendance were the zonal directors for the campaign council, northwest: Senator Aliyu M. Wamakko, northeast: Senator Muh’d Ali Ndume, north central: Senator Abdullahi Adamu, southwest: Sola Oke, southeast: Sharon Ikeazor and south-south: Senator Godswill Akpabio.
Others who attended the meeting included Senator George Akume, vice chairman of north and Senator Ken Nnamani, vice chairman south.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Brigadier General (retd) Mohammed Marwa, a former military governor of Lagos and old Borno states, on Wednesday, January 9, refuted claims that there was conflict between the two campaign councils of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking with newsmen in Abuja on the distinction between both groups, Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and the Women and Youth Presidential Campaign (WYPC), Marwa said: “This is definitely a new addition to the political lexicon in Nigeria for two presidential campaign organisations, for the same platform, to run side by side.”
