Criticisms has been levelled against the Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun for supporting and appreciating Laycon by gospel artistes including Nathaniel Bassey and Wale Adenuga
Abiodun appointed Laycon as the Youth Ambassador of the state on Tuesday, October 6, while playing host to the 26-year-old rapper at his Oke-Mosan office in Abeokuta.
He also gifted Laycon N5 million and a three-bedroom bungalow.
Reacting to that, Adenuga, via his Instagram, faulted the development, stating that the action “further entrench the sad narrative that, we are a nation that rewards trivialities and mediocrity.”
However, Daddy Freeze countered the statement through his Instagram page, he argued that those who support Laycon should not be discouraged as he deserves what he gets. He added that Laycon comported himself while in the house and represented Nigeria well despite his health challenge.
