Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski, has rejected a new deal at the club and opened talks with Real Madrid.
Sky Germany reports that Lewandowski is keen on a move to LaLiga, a decision that will come as a blow to Chelsea and Manchester United, who had reportedly been keen on bringing him to England .
The Poland striker’s arrival would throw the future of Karim Benzema into doubt, with the Frenchman being linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer.
Despite being under contract until 2021, Lewandowski has hired super-agent Pini Zahavi to negotiate a deal, to release him from the Bundesliga leaders.
Zahavi however faces an uphill challenge, with Bayern not short of funds and expected to resist any attempts to lure the player away.
Since arriving in July 2014, Lewandowski has scored 97 goals in 108 Bundesliga games for Bayern.
