The Made-in-Aba, campaign is recording wider spectrum of supports, admiration, applauses and patronages, within and outside the shores of this great Nation. The aspiration of Governor Ikpeazu in promoting our homegrown technology is yielding the targeted and desired results. The economic implications is enormous for our dear state, the vision being, amongst others, to empower our people economically which is foreseeable by expanding the markets for our indigenous brands that have eventually skyrocketed demands, for Aba made products.
Secondly, as a State, we stand to benefit immensely, through diversification and increasing our revenue base, which will net in money for more infrastructural development and maintenance in God’s Own State.
It is reassuring that Abia got another contract for the production of Naval uniforms. This was brokered when Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, in the company of the Commissioner for Industry, Chief Henry Ikoh received a high powered delegation from the Chief of Naval Staff, led by Commodore Chris Obinta at the Abia State Governor’s Lodge Aba.
Speaking at the epoch occasion, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu expressed his profound appreciation to the Federal Government for supporting and given impetus to the Made_in_Aba.
Quoting Governor Ikpeazu, “I commend the Nigeria Navy for indicating interest in procuring their wears from our people here in Aba. I must commend the Federal Government for the support given to our Made-in-Aba promotion campaign”.
Made-in-Aba is bigger than the geographical entity of Aba. It is a philosophy that has even gone beyond the shores of Nigeria. Like Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, we encourage people, wherever they are, to sustain the campaign by wearing and promoting Made-in-Aba – we must be proud of ‘our own’.
It is a thing of great joy that our inherent capabilities and comparative advantages as a people and State have been furnished and brought to national and international limelight. This is indeed a turning point in the annals of our State, an offshoot of purposeful and visionary leadership of the present administration of Governor Ikpeazu. Recent developments, recognitions and orders placed for Aba made products signals that our State is on the route for an unprecedented economic turnaround, independence and reckoning.
It could also be recalled that Governor Ikpeazu just came back from the people’s Republic of China where a deal for a 1.5 billion dollars shoe industry to be built in Aba was brokered, this brought a new dawn for the Made-in-Aba mantra of the Ikpeazu’s government, thus it has been rephrased to Make-in-Aba, an aphorism that implores manufacturing giants and entrepreneurs to take advantage of our thriving profitable and clement business climate to invest and produce their products in Aba and Abia State in general.
