The bane of development in Nigeria’s democratic setting is politicizing every single issue by our leaders, it’s a common occurrence in our milieu for politicians to seize any occasion to feather their political nest, thus scoring cheap political points at the utter detriment of the socioeconomic development of our beloved Nation. But recently Governor Ikpeazu and his eleven Governors colleagues jetted out to the People’s Republic of China for the First Nigeria-China Governors Investment Forum.
Our own Governor Ikpeazu seized the occasion to meet with Chinese businessmen and investors in a bid to attract humongous foreign Direct Investment to Abia State. In fact, it was in the news that a 1.5 billion dollars shoe industry was billed to be established in Abia.
It was not envisaged that this positive development will be immediate and instantaneous, but it is rather inspiring and commendable that before one could say ‘A JACK’ these investors have started thronging to Abia State to finalize talks for onward actions, thus concretizing the agreement reached with Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in faraway China. Certainly, this is a redefinition of leadership, when a leader’s words is his bond. We have never seen it in Abia before.
A survey into the many benefits of this shoe industry, to be cited in God’s Own State, reveals that it will create a huge employment for Abians, this is just the antidote to curbing the high level of juvenile delinquencies in our contemporary society occasioned by joblessness.
It no longer news that more than three thousand jobs will be created
It is hope turned to reality for our dear State to be entertaining such high profile investors at this crucial stage of socioeconomic emancipation being piloted by Governor Ikpeazu.
Apart from its attendant increase to our IGR accruals, it is an indices for measuring a progressive and visionary government, one that have attracted confidence from within the country and the diaspora.
It is quite timely to extolled the unique administrative repertoire of Governor Ikpeazu for setting a new standard in the lexicon of political leadership in Nigeria.
As such, ABIANS HAVE BEEN DISARMED ABOUT THE NEGATIVE PERCEPTIONS THEY HAVE NURTURED BEFORE NOW as this have been made feasible by the sterling outing of Governor Ikpeazu since his assumption of office.
To our August visitors, Abians are warm, enterprising and hospitable people, with a fertile ground for business and commerce, hence return for investment is surely guaranteed.
YOU’RE WELCOME TO GOD’S OWN STATE.
