Abia State Government says it would hold December 2019 monthly sanitation exercise in all the communities and Local Government Areas of the State tomorrow, Saturday
21st between the hours of 9:am and 11:am.
A release signed by the Honourable commissioner for Environment, Dr. Solomon Ogunji stated that movement of people and vehicles during the period shall be restricted, except those on essential duties who would be required to present on demand, valid identification or any authentic authorization for such exemption.
Dr. Ogunji informs all markets, motor parks, private and public transport companies as well as business premises to carry out their own excercise today, Friday, December 20, 2019 between the hours of 7am and 9am to carry out their own clean- up exercise.
According to the Commissioner, the defaulters of the sanitation excercise shall be arrested and prosecuted in line with the Abia State Basic Environmental law. He however sought the coorperation of the general public to that effect.
