NWAKANMA WARNS ABA RESIDENTS AGAINST DUMPING WASTE ON ROADS
The Deputy General Manager, ASEPA, Aba zone, Chief Rowland Nwakanma has warned tricycle operators, buses, motorists and individuals in Aba to stop dumping refuse on the roads or face drastic consequences.
Chief Nwakanma gave the warning after apprehending a Keke napep operator Mr Kalu Kazi with registration number ACH 616 QA dumping refuse along Azikiwe road Aba.
He disclosed that henceforth anyone caught dumping refuse on the roads and streets of Aba will have his vehicle impounded for one month.
He frowned at the endless dumping of refuse on the streets of Aba despite repeated media campaign against the dastardly act and announced that in addition to impounding vehicles the culprit will be prosecuted at the mobile sanitation court.
The ASEPA DGM directed the Agency taskforces to step up efforts at apprehending sanitation offenders stressing that the huge Government resources being invested in refuse disposal in Aba would be meaningless unless if unscrupulous individuals sabotaging the genuine efforts of the Agency are prosecuted.
