NYSC to send first batch of 200 corps members to Multi Skill Development Center at Aba

In a bid to encourage skill acquisition and vocational training, the NYSC Director General Brig.Gen.SK Kazaure has promised to send a first batch of 200 corps members to the Multi Skill and entrepreneurship Development Center at KM 8 Old Umuahia Road, Aba, Abia State.
Gen.Kazaure made the promise when he was led on a tour at the facility by the Commissioner for Youths Chief Ike Anyataowu and the DG expressed happiness that most of the things that were being shopped abroad can easily be produced in Abia State.

The NYSC boss commended the management of the Center led by Mr Raymond Aliga for what he described as an excellent idea and also Abia State Government for creating enabling environment for business to thrive in the State.
While taking the NYSC boss and his entourage round the facility, Mr Aliga explained that Npower and corps members can take advantage of the opportunity to learn new things as well as get extra pay when they engage in production of materials. He emphasized on the need to encourage entrepreneurship as a way of reducing burden of employment on the Government.
Mr Aliga said that the industrial cluster will soon have a male and female hostel for workers.
Already, the industrial cluster has provided hundreds of jobs for our teeming youths and has as well, trained thousands of Abians in various Skills ranging from furniture making, garment and shoe making, bricks moulding and other fabrications.
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor of Abia State on Job Creation and Youth Development Mr Chinenye Nwogu, SSA media Comr. Ikechukwu Iroha and other Government officials were present at the center.
