The remains of late Lady Ngozi Okonkwo Kalu (1969-2020), sister to Barr Mrs Nnenna Obewu Onwuka, has been laid to rest in her home town, Umuakika Abiriba in Ohafia Local Government Area.
In a sermon, Rt. Rev. Kelechi Awah urged everyone to turn away from every form of sin and unrighteousness but rather embrace the salvation of God through Jesus Christ.
Rev. Awah, who preached on the topic: God is still alive, harped on the dependable nature of God whom he said is a readily available help in times of need and lifes troubles.
According to him, situations such deaths of loved ones could be highly devastating but noted that by total dependence on God, comfort would always come.
The Minister while describing the deceased as a good woman charged those she left behind to bear with fortitude the irreparable lost.
In a tribute, the sister of the deceased, Chief (Mrs) Nnenna Obewu Onwuka, who described life as nothing but the preparation for death, said her relationship with the late Ngozi was inseparable.
She recalled the good times they had together and wished they could be brought back, regretting that death has opened a vacuum in her life that would be very difficult to close.
According to her, “Aunty Ngo both of us were so close that people could not understand, they had their different opinions which did not really matter as I know that every individual has where it pinches him or her. Circumstances of life made that I became your husband, boyfriend and in fact your comfort zone. Aunty Ngo nkem, you showed me love, respect, care and cooperation.”
On his part, Chief Jerry Kalu, who described life as a mystery which is only known to God, said her sister was a jovial person who always made people around her happy.
“A golden sister with a golden heart who believes in bringing family members together no matter what,” he said.
Adding: I will forever be grateful for having you in my life as my kid sister and I pray that God should take over the vacuum your departure created.”
Lady Ngozi Okonkwo Kalu who was born on May 27th 1969 and died on 31st August this year was survived by a elder brother, Chief Jerry Kalu, Elder sister, Chief Mrs Nnenna Obewu Onwuka, Mrs Jane Ebem among others.
