Participants of the ongoing poultry farming training at the Abia State Poultry Clusters have expressed satisfaction with the knowledge they are acquiring through the training and commended the efforts of the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu in partnering the CBN to bring the project to the State.

They made this known while interacting with Abia Online on the benefits of the training. They are of the opinion that after the training they would be better placed to rear the birds and participate in the development of agriculture in the State.

The participants, who were selected from the 17 Local Government Areas in the State including Mr. Chimaobi Ugwuala, from Ugwunagbo, Alazu Okechukwu Aba North, Mr Owunna Chimaobi, Ikwuano, commended their trainers for doing a good job in taking them through both theory and practical (which will take place on Saturday).

They expressed hope that with the knowledge they will acquire at the end of the training, they would be able to take care of the poultry pens that would be assigned to them and promised that they would not let the Governor down in his effort of making life more meaningful to them.

They however, expressed mixed feelings on the#5000 monthly stipend they were to be receiving and appealed for the upward review of the stipend.

Responding to their complaints, the project manager, Mr. I. C. Nwankwere explained that the stipend is only for their transportation and not a salary as they would be requested to show what they can do with their assigned pens at the the scheme progresses; he called for patience on the part of the participants as they would be happier when they begin to reap the benefits of the project.
