Events marking the burial of the immediate Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party PDP Abia State, Sir Johnson Okebaram Onuigbo (Akinboard) came to a climax on Sunday with a thanksgiving service at Christ the King Church, Ugba.
In his sermon, the Vicar in charge of CKC Ugba, the Rev Victor Irokwe urged christians to always leave something behind that they would be remembered for. Rev Irokwe warned
against the unhealthy attitude of the rich in the society especially those who think that tomorrow belongs them as well as others who create a big gap between themselves and the poor people among them.
The Vicar while describing such attitude as unhealthy cautioned against what he called mad rush to acquire wealth by all means and the attitude of the rich towards the poor and God which he said were highly condemnable.
He noted that an acceptable lifestyle for the wealthy people in the church include one that always involves God in decision making, one that identifies the poor with a view to helping them out as well as does not enslave others because of their status in the society.
Irokwe enjoined the family of late Onuigbo to build on the good legacies of their late father who he said would be greatly remembered for his philanthropist gesture and helping the needy around him.
ABIA ONLINE gathered that the service attracted family members, close relations, friends and well-wishers including the clerk of Abia State House of Assembly, Chief John Pedro Irokansi among other notable people in the society.
Sir. Johnson Okebaram Onuigbo, popularly known as AkinBoard, who was born on March 5, 1954, died on July 27 2020 and was led to rest on Wednesday, 28 October, 2020.
He was survived by a wife, Lady Uzoamaka Patience Onuigbo, four children, four grandchildren, a brother, Chief Uwadileke Onuigbo, in-laws and a host of other relations.
