Good governance in multiethnic states refers to government’s capacity to respond to societal demands for inclusive and high-quality public outreach and representation at the ‘Local Level’ to engender ‘Equity and Inclusiveness’ which depends on ensuring that everyone feel included and empowered to improve or maintain their livelihood, especially those individuals and groups that are the most vulnerable.
In her usual way of reaching out to the grassroots and carrying out what could be referred to as mop up campaigns ahead of the guber elections, the wife of the State Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu has visited several communities across the 17 LGAs of Abia State with her touch of love.
Mrs. Ikpeazu and her team have ensured that they reach out to the poor and vulnerable in the rural and urban communities of the State. Just yesterday, she stormed Obi-Mgboko Ama-Isii (Mgboko Ama-Iri ancient Kingdom) in Obingwa Local Government Area of the State, where as usual, she did what she is best known for, that is uplifting lives and giving hope to the hopeless.
As what seems to be part of her lifestyle, the wife of the Governor always have programmes in the State aimed at ensuring the inclusiveness of all and sundry under Governor Ikpeazu’s watch. She has never relented in reaching out to the women at the grassroot level, carrying them along and ensuring that she bridges the gap between the poor and the rich among them through various means.
Of course, Mrs. Ikpeazu’s benevolence is second to none. In the last four years as wife of the Governor of Abia State, she has affected many lives of women, children, the girl child, the poor and vulnerable in the State and beyond.
The ingenuity of the wife of the Governor has made her to establish Sickle Cell Anaemia Clinic Centre, where the victims are taken care of. Through her pet project, Vicar Hope Foundation. The Sickle Cell Anaemia Clinic is very functional and people are receiving their treatments. The Vicar Hope Foundation is making frantic efforts to ensure more people do not become victims of Sickle Cell Anaemia, the Foundation is also running free genotype test for school children. Through the Vicar Hope Foundation, a lot of women empowerment programmes have been carried out in the LGAs and even extended to churches.
She has contributed in saving individuals whose lives were at stake and needed money to offset certain bills, these were different from that of other several hospital bills of many she has settled. This woman with the Midas Touch has built several bungalows for the poor and widows across the 17 Local Government Areas of the State. She has assisted people on individual bases.
No wonder, people are very much happy with her and always pray for the sustenance of these uncommon benevolence. Indeed, Abia State needs a woman with the milk of human kindness like Mrs. Ikpeazu, who would at all times exhibit love and kindness for the less privileged as well as other classes of people in the State. Abia State deserves to continue to enjoy the good things emanating from the leadership of Dr. Ikpeazu as complimented by the beautiful wife, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu. Hence, Abia electorates should troop out “en masse” to support the continuation of the divine mandate of Dr. Ikpeazu through voting him again by next Saturday. A vote for Dr. Ikpeazu is a vote for sustainable development in the State and sustained help and assistance to the widow, poor, the less privileged and the vulnerable in Abia State.
