The Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) Aminu Tambuwal has scored the highest votes of the Sokoto State governorship election.
The incumbent governor of Sokoto leads with a slim margin of 342 votes.

Tambuwal polled 512,002, while his main challaneger, Ahmad Aliyu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) came close behind with 511,661, losing with 341votes.
